1. Introduction

Welcome to Receiptkr ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal and financial information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data when you use our mobile application to store receipts and track expenses.

By accessing or using Receiptkr, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services:

A. Personal Information

  • Identity Data: Email address, Full Name (if provided via Social Login).

  • Authentication Data: If you log in via Google or Facebook, we collect your public profile information (name, email) associated with that account.

  • Credentials: If you sign up via email/password, we store a securely hashed version of your password.

B. User Content (Receipts and Financial Data)

  • Receipt Images: Photos or files of receipts you upload to our cloud.

  • Expense Data: Information extracted or manually entered from receipts (e.g., merchant name, date, transaction amount, currency, category).

C. Device and Usage Information

  • We collect information about your mobile device (e.g., ID, model, operating system) and usage logs to ensure app stability and improve performance.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data for the following purposes:

  • Service Provision: To store receipts, analyze spending, and provide expense tracking.

  • Authentication: To manage your account and login sessions.

  • Marketing (With Consent): We may use your email to send newsletters or promotional offers. You may opt-out of these communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in the email.

  • Security: To detect fraud and ensure the integrity of your account.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): All sensitive user data, including receipt images, is encrypted during transmission and while stored in our cloud servers.

  • Data Retention: We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

5. Account Deletion Policy

We respect your right to be forgotten. We will not delete your data without your consent. To request permanent account deletion:

  1. Send an email to support@receiptkr.com.

  2. Requirement: You must send the email from the same email address registered with your Receiptkr account.

  3. Include your full name and a request to delete your account.

Upon verification, your account and all associated data will be permanently erased.

6. International Data Transfers

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ.

If you are located outside India and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to India (or our global cloud servers) and process it there. Your consent to this Privacy Policy represents your agreement to that transfer.

7. GDPR Compliance (For European Union Users)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. Receiptkr aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data.

Legal Basis for Processing:

  • Contract: To provide the Receiptkr service to you.

  • Consent: For marketing emails (which you can withdraw at any time).

Your Rights under GDPR:

  • The right to access: You can ask for copies of your personal data.

  • The right to rectification: You can request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate.

  • The right to erasure: You can request that we erase your personal data (see Section 5).

  • The right to data portability: You have the right to be provided with a copy of the information we have on you in a structured, machine-readable format.

8. CCPA Compliance (For California Residents)

This section applies only to California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have specific rights regarding your personal information.

We Do Not Sell Your Personal Data: We do not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary value.

Your Rights under CCPA:

  • Right to Know: You may request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell.

  • Right to Delete: You may request the deletion of your personal information.

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights (e.g., we will not deny you goods or services or charge you different prices).

9. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service or for authentication:

  • Google OAuth & Facebook Auth: Used for login.

  • Cloud Providers: Used for secure data storage.

These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

10. Managing Credentials (Forgot Password)

Currently, Receiptkr does not support an automated "Forgot Password" feature. If you use an email/password login, you are responsible for remembering your credentials. We strongly recommend using Google or Facebook login to avoid losing access to your account. This feature will be added in a future update.
